Position Performance Responsibilities: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the
characteristics, uses, and design of information systems, including both
standard reference sources and information retrieval, utilizing new and
emerging technologies. 2. Select, acquire, organize and maintain information
resources and the appropriate equipment for their use. This includes
collecting and maintaining a school-wide inventory of computer equipment,
software, AV equipment, parts and supplies for repairing and operating
equipment (toner, batteries, bulbs, lenses, cables, headphones, etc.) 3. Plan,
implement, and evaluate the organization and management of the library media
program. Responsible for managing and communicating computer lab schedules to
staff and students. This also includes managing and communicating schedules
for technology systems that are used on a temporary basis (e.g. laptops,
AlphaSmarts, Smart Boards, digital cameras, projection equipment.) 4. Design
and implement a valid criteria for selecting instructional materials and
equipment, including library resources, software, and multimedia technology.
5. Select and present age appropriate literature in the library media center.
6. Design programs taking into consideration the needs of the elementary
school student. 7. Inform teachers and other staff members concerning new
materials the media center acquires. 8. Work cooperatively with staff and
